Mite - Bantam + High School
Mites: Blue, White, Red
8U Mites: 4 to 8 years old. There are 3 levels within this group.
- Blue is for beginners. Games are played without goalies and are played cross ice. The Mite Blue season starts mid-December
- White is the intermediate level and goalies are introduced. Games are half ice.
- Red is for the most advanced hockey players under the age of 8. Games are half ice at the beginning of the year, but near the end of the year, it’ll transition to full ice with real rules like penalties, offsides, and icing.
Squirt - Bantam
Squirt - Bantam: Children between the ages of 9 and 14 are eligible to participate in the Squirt, Peewee, or Bantam division.
- Squirt (10U) is the first year all games are played full ice and players compete against all other Cleveland area teams in the CSHL for a championship. Players are typically on the ice 3-4 times a week.
- Peewee (12U) is the first year slapshots are introduced. Players compete in the CSHL and are on the ice 3-4 times a week.
- Bantam (14U) is the first year full body contact is introduced. Players compete in the CSHL and and are on the ice 3-4 times a week.
Games
Teams play 16-22 league games from mid-October to mid-February (includes a preseason for divisional seating). Games are typically played on the weekend. Your team may also participate in 1-3 weekend tournaments over the year which offer a total of 30 games/season. Tournaments are pay-to-play and are around $100 per player to register. Many teams hold fundraisers to offset costs. Tournaments may be out of town/state.
Uniforms
Players must purchase our club jerseys, as needed. Fittings occur at the rink in late spring (usually May) and can be purchased through our Team Shop.
Additional Costs
USA Hockey Membership ($15-70 per year, depending on age) is required prior to registration with our program. Click here to register. If players elect to participate in supplemental tournaments, they are responsible for tournament entry fees and/or travel expenses.
